The exhibitions dedicated to Lee Miller and to Turner & Constable have drawn exceptional crowds since opening at Tate Britain. Due to overwhelming demand, both shows extended their hours until 10pm over the past two weekends, with additional late openings scheduled again this weekend. Tate Britain Director Alex Farquharson celebrated the response, noting that the exhibitions span historic landscape painting to pioneering modern photography and encourage visitors to see the world through artists’ perspectives. He added that the extended hours have enabled even more people to experience the displays.

The Lee Miller exhibition has attracted more than 240,000 visitors, making it the most successful photography exhibition ever staged at a Tate gallery. Showcasing 230 prints alongside previously unseen material, it is the largest retrospective of Miller’s work to date. The exhibition closes on Sunday evening and is now sold out, with entry available only to Tate Members.

Meanwhile, Turner & Constable has welcomed 130,000 visitors halfway through its run. Marking 250 years since the artists’ births, it features over 190 works, including rare US loans. Tate Britain has also unveiled a Bridget Riley display and acquired a rare William Dobson self-portrait.
